I was able to get PlaySMS successfully installed but can’t map my ZTE MF833V USB modem to smstools3 device path. The USB modem doesn’t create any entries under /dev/ttyUSB. After hours of research and troubleshooting, I haven’t had any success. I tried to perform the usb_modeswitch config as well. Can someone recommend what USB 4G Modem they were able to get working with Ubuntu 18 + smstools3.
I’m not particularly dedicated to smstools3 but that seems to be the best option for USB modems.
