from where did you set up the requirements like apache2 libapache2-mod-php5 mysql-server php5 php5-cli php5-mysql php5-mcrypt php5-gd php5-imap php5-curl and all

i have experienced absolutely no issues in ubuntu
but will the mirror you gave work for RHEL6 too?
the link i sent is not ubuntu, it is centos, which is the “community red hat” and should work.

i did download most of the softwares from the mirror you sent
i was however unable to locate php-mcrypt… any leads would help?
also i could not find equal of libapche2-mod-php5

i did install most of it…
but some have dependences like
libcrypt.so, libssl.so?
i shall donwload these and post up here…
well, a bit of googling should have done it. just install openssl.
